What is an SVI LPG system?

Port Adelaide Auto Repairs are experts in the care and maintenance of Sequential Vapor Injection (SVI) LPG systems.

SVI is the latest technology from Europe and has been tested and approved for Australia. It is an electronically controlled LPG system for vehicles with petrol sequential injection. The Multipoint sequential system employs an ECU that controls the gas injection sequence and the timing. Gas is injected through a rail of injectors directly into the inlet manifold thus obtaining a particularly precise mix to optimise the combustion process.

The difference between a standard LPG system and an SVI system is that the Sequential Vapor Injection system injects the gas through a dedicated LPG injector closer to the inlet valves and has an ECU or computer that monitors the engine and controls each injector accordingly.

This means the chances of a backfire are reduced to almost nil and the quantity of fuel injected is more accurately controlled so that fuel economy is improved. An LPG vapor injection system results to little or no loss of power in your vehicle, and there is a seamless transition from petrol to LPG and back again.

Port Adelaide Auto Repairs use a range of suppliers when servicing and maintaining vapor injection system because the type of vapor injection system selected for your car depends on several factors including: engine size, tuning features and physical size for compact application, so parts required can vary.

If you happen to own an LPG vehicle using SVI technology then the best place to have it serviced is with the expert team at Port Adelaide Auto Repairs. Our technicians have many years of experience in the service and maintenance of standard LPG systems, Orbital Liquid LPG Systems and Sequential Vapor Injection LPG (SVI) systems.
